Moid Rashidi was born in 1988 in Kankinara, Northern Kolkata. He is numbered among the most innovative poets of the present times. He did his MA from Jawaharlal Nehru University, M.Phil. from Delhi University, and was conferred upon a Ph.D. degree on 'Jadeed Ghazal Ki Sheriyat’ (in the capacity of a teacher) by the Aligarh Muslim University. He was associated with All India Radio's Delhi station as a compere for three years. He served for three years as a Research Assistant at the National Council for the Promotion of Urdu Language, New Delhi. In 2013, he was awarded the National Award for Young Writer by Sahitya Academy (Delhi). He has authored six books so far; among them ‘Takhliq, Takha’il, aur Istiaara’ became the chief basis for his fame. His book on Momin Khan Momin was highly regarded in academic circles and gained credibility in universities. Rekhta Foundation has published his poetry collection in both Urdu (Aakhiri Kinare Par) and Hindi (Ishq). Having participated in several Mushairas in India and abroad, he is currently associated with the Urdu Department of Aligarh Muslim University attending to his teaching responsibilities.

Moid Rashidi’s poetry touches upon a variety of experiences, observations, and emotions, subtly depicting darkness in the light of illumination. He dives deep into his true self and explores the mysteries of existence. Total experience, a blend of inward and outward states, is what gives shape to his poetic creations.
