Nau-rooz
Navroz is the Iranian national festival which marks the arrival of spring and is celebrated on the first day of the month of Farvardin according to the Persian calendar. According to the Christian calender, it is celebrated on 21/22 March every year. This festival started on the day Jamshid took to the throne. It continued since then with every Iranian emperor. This day was treated extremely auspicious and everything that was considered important in the religious, social, cultural and political lives of the Iranians was traditionally done on this day. This was also known as Jashn-e-Jamshedi. This day is celebrated now by the Parsis all over the world.
