بہت کچھ منتظر اک بات کا تھا
کہ لمحہ لاکھ امکانات کا تھا
بچا لی تھی ضیا اندر کی اس نے
وہی اک آشنا اب رات کا تھا
رفاقت کیا کہاں کے مشترک خواب
کہ سارا سلسلہ شبہات کا تھا
بگولے اس کے سر پر چیختے تھے
مگر وہ آدمی چپ ذات کا تھا
حنائی ہاتھ کا منظر تھا بانیؔ
کہ تابندہ ورق اثبات کا تھا
