Jameel Ahsan was born on 7 January 1924 in Azeemabad. He did his graduation and H.M.B from Patna University and joined the postal department. After partition, he moved to West Pakistan of that time, but on 14 August 1972 he went to Karachi and started working as an accountant in the Telephone Department, from where he retired as accounts officer. Now, he is a practicing homeopath at Karachi. He writes under the pen name, Jameel. Dil Ki Kitab, Doha Sansaar, Wehdat-O-Midhat, Almudassir, Al Rehman, Gul-E-She Barg, Aab-O-Saraab, Gulhaay Sad Nigar and Riwayat Ke Qaidy (short stories) are the collections of his works.
