Syed Rafique Marehravi was born in 1908 in qasba Marehra of Etah district. He was the son of renowned urdu poet Ahsan Marehravi. Rafique Marehravi did notable works on urdu poetry and prose and left more than a half dozen of valuable books like Hinduon mein Urdu, Bazme Dagh, Zabane Dagh, Chup ki Daad aur Fariyad, Qissa Gul o Sanobar etc. He also wrote literary articles in most of the famous urdu magazines of that time. One of his article was published in nigar in August 1948 that was about the private life of Mirza Dagh Dehlvi and his beloved Munni Bai Hijab and gained a wide fame in literary hubs. His book "Hinduon Mein Urdu" is dedicated to Hindu poets of urdu language and emphasises the contributions of Hindu poets to urdu language. The book contains life sketches and poetical works of approximately two hundred hindu poets. He published his father's deewan (poetry collection) by the name "Jalwa e Ahsan". He passed away in 24 may 1967 in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh.
