sabr ḳhāliq ne diyā hai mujhe sab ke badle
itnī sī baat pe bigḌe hī chale jaate ho
le lo tum bosa-e-lab bosa-e-lab ke badle
furqat-e-yār meñ jiine ke uThā.e ilzām
maut aa.ī na mujhe hijr kī shab ke badle
aaj aġhyār 'vafā' se na ulajh baiThe hoñ
taur aate haiñ nazar bazm-e-tarab ke badle
