ek mashal thi bujha di usne
ek mash'al thī bujhā dī us ne
phir añdheroñ ko havā dī us ne
kis qadar fart-e-aqīdat se jhukā
aur phir ḳhaak uḌā dī us ne
dam-ba-dam mujh pe chalā kar talvār
ek patthar ko jilā dī us ne
yaañ to aatā hī nahīñ thā koī
aan kar bazm sajā dī us ne

phir andheron ko hawa di us ne

aur phir KHak uDa di us ne
dam-ba-dam mujh pe chala kar talwar

yan to aata hi nahin tha koi
