ishq fani na husn fani hai
ishq faanī na husn faanī hai
un kā har lamha jāvedānī hai
dekh rindoñ pe itnā ta.an na kar
dekh rut kis qadar suhānī hai
shaiḳh faanī sahī ye dhar magar
terī jannat faqat kahānī hai
ek be-kaif sā tasalsul hai
koī ġham hai na shādmānī hai
ishq fani na husn fani hai
