zikr itnā rasan-o-dār kā karte kyuuñ ho
tum bhī the zuud yaqīnī ke to mujrim shāyad
saarā ilzām usī shaḳhs pe dharte kyuuñ ho
āfiyat kosh agar ho to burā kyā hai magar
rāh-e-pur-ḳhār-e-mohabbat se guzarte kyuuñ ho
jāñ-ba-lab ko nahīñ iifā kī tavaqqo.a ḳhud bhī
apne va.ade se bilā-vaj.h mukarte kyuuñ ho
shikwa ab gardish-e-ayyam ka karte kyun ho
KHwab dekhe the to tabir se Darte kyun ho
KHauf padash ka lafzon mein kahin chhupta hai
zikr itna rasan-o-dar ka karte kyun ho
tum bhi the zud yaqini ke to mujrim shayad
sara ilzam usi shaKHs pe dharte kyun ho
aafiyat kosh agar ho to bura kya hai magar
rah-e-pur-KHar-e-mohabbat se guzarte kyun ho
jaan-ba-lab ko nahin ifa ki tawaqqoa KHud bhi
apne wade se bila-wajh mukarte kyun ho
