Do not even mention my penury to him
Lest he reaches the crux of my problems
میں تو کچھ بھی نہیں کرتی ہوں محبت کے لیے
عشق والے تو لٹا دیتے ہیں سلطانی تک
I do virtually nothing for my love
Lovers have been known to forego crowns
کیسے صحرا میں بھٹکتا ہے مرا تشنہ لب
کیسی بستی ہے جہاں ملتا نہیں پانی تک
What is the desert where my parched lips wander
What is this place where no water is to be found
ناخدا دیکھ چکا کالی گھٹا کے تیور
بادباں کھول دئیے اس نے بھی طغیانی تک
The oarsman has seen the look of the black clouds
He has unfurled the sails till the coming of the storm
پر خطر راہ مری ہونے لگی ہے آساں
خوف کس کا ہے بھلا تیری نگہبانی تک
My tortuous paths are becoming simple
