Ziaul Mustafa Turk was born on August 29, 1976 in Multan to Mufti Muhammad Shafi Goldawi. His father was respected as a religious scholar in academic and religious circles across the country. Ziaul Mustafa passed his middle-school examination from Government Muslim High School Multan, and matriculated from Government Pilot Secondary School, Nawanshahr Multan with distinction. After doing FA from Multan, he graduated from Bahauddin Zakaria University. He later obtained his MA in Urdu from the same university.

Zia-ul-Mustafa started his creative and literary journey from the literary circles of Multan. People from the literary world known him as "Zia Turk". He did significant work not only in poetry but also in criticism and translation.

He has a great command over Urdu, Persian and English languages. Zia-ul-Mustafa has a deep attachment to Sufism. In addition, he is always engaged in literary criticism and translation work. He translated renowned Sufi Fakhruddin Iraqi’s book "Limaat" from Persian into Urdu. In addition, his translations of Rainer Maria Rilke's book "Elegies" and Baudelaire’s poems have been published in various magazines and journals. A translation of two books by Nobel laureate Octavio Paz, "Early Poems" and "A Tale of Two Gardens" is currently in print. In addition, his critical essays on contemporary Urdu literature have been published from time to time. In 2011, his collection of poems, ‘Shahr-e-Pas-e-Charagh’ was published, which was appreciated by literary circles and poets and critics in India and Europe, as well as literary circles across the country.

Since 2007, he has been serving as a lecturer in Cadet College, Hassan Abdal, Pakistan.
