Profile of Jawad Sarwar Syed
Born : 30 Apr 1969 | Dera Gazi Khan, Punjab
Jawad Sarwar Syed is an Urdu poet, writer, and educationist based in Lahore. Deeply rooted in the classical Urdu tradition, his poetry explores themes of love, loss, memory, spirituality, social inequality, and the complexities of contemporary life. His collection of Urdu poetry, Ayna Kiyun Na Doon, has been published by Book Corner, Jhelum. He is Professor of Leadership and Organisational Behaviour at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and has previously taught at universities in the UK, Japan, and Australia. Several of his ghazals and nazms have been set to music, helping introduce Urdu poetry to wider and younger audiences through digital platforms in Pakistan and beyond.
