Real Name : Nurul Nabi

Born : 07 Oct 1934 | Sukkur, Sindh

Died : 25 Nov 1999 | Islamabad, Pakistan

On 25th November 1999, Dr. Tanveer Abbasi, a renowned poet, writer, researcher, and playwright of the Sindhi language, passed away in Islamabad.
His real name was Noor-ul-Nabi, and he was born on 7th October 1934 in Goth Sobhodero, District Khairpur Mirs.

Among his literary works are Ragon Thiyon Rubab, Sajj Tari Ain Heetaan, Hee Dharati, Tanveer Chaey, Mannh Janein Mashal, and Sajan Sonhan Surat. He also conducted research and compiled the works of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Sachal Sarmast, Guru Nanak, Yousuf, and Khair Muhammad Hisbani.

The Government of Pakistan posthumously honored him with the Presidential Pride of Performance Award.
He is buried in the main cemetery of Islamabad
