About The Book
This book is a history of the Indian Rebellion of 1857 (also known as the Indian Mutiny or the First War of Independence). It was compiled/translated into Urdu from an English work by Pandit Kanhaiya Lal. The translator explains his choice of title "Mār Nazar," which is a chronogram related to the publication year, and how it relates to the Christian year of the rebellion. The book details the events leading up to and during the rebellion, covering various aspects from military movements to political motivations, and includes a preface from the original English author. It also contains an errata page.
