Dr. Hafizur Rahman was born in Buxar district of Bihar, India. After completing his early education in his native region, he pursued higher studies and dedicated his professional life to teaching and academic research. He is currently serving as a Professor in a college in Ara (Bihar).

Dr. Rahman is widely known for his scholarly work on Sufism, the history of Sufi saints, Islamic architecture, and the cultural heritage of Sufi shrines and khanqahs in India. His research focuses on the intellectual and spiritual traditions of Sufism and the historical role of Sufi institutions in shaping South Asian society.

One of his important works, “Tasawwuf aur Sufiya ki Tareekh: Arab se Hindustan Tak” (History of Sufism from Arabia to India) received recognition and publication support from the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), New Delhi.

Dr. Rahman has authored numerous books in Urdu, Hindi, and English. His notable works include studies on Sufi saints, shrines, and spiritual traditions such as Tasawwuf aur Sheikh Abu Bakr Tusi Haidari Qalandar, Mazarat-e-Auliya, Tasawwuf aur Khawateen Auliya, Dargahs of Delhi’s Saints, and research on Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti of Ajmer and other major Sufi figures.

Besides Sufi studies, he has also written books in the field of education, including History of Inclusive Education in India, Key Issues in Teacher Education, and Teaching of English.

Dr. Rahman has also been actively involved in promoting Sufi teachings and moral education. In this connection, he played a key role in establishing the Universal Sufi Saint Study and Research Foundation in Shaheen Bagh, New Delhi, with the aim of spreading the message of peace, spirituality, and ethical values inspired by Sufi traditions.

Through his research, writings, and academic activities, Dr. Hafizur Rahman has contributed significantly to the study of Sufism, Sufi heritage, and the cultural history of Islamic spirituality in South Asia.
