Nazir Fatehpuri is a credible name in this list, who can undoubtedly be called a 'Dervish of Literature' and a 'True Soldier of Urdu.' He not only kept the flame of Urdu alive in Pune (Maharashtra) but also established his identity across the literary circles of the entire subcontinent through his writings.

Nazir Fatehpuri's real name is Nazir Ahmed. He was born on December 1, 1946, in the historical town of 'Fatehpur Shekhawati' in the Sikar district of Rajasthan. This region is famous for its educational and cultural richness. Nazir Ahmed received his primary education there; however, for higher education and employment, he moved to Maharashtra and made Pune his home. This is why his personality has become a literary landmark of Pune today.

Nazir Fatehpuri is a versatile artist. He is simultaneously a poet, short story writer, novelist, researcher, critic, and editor. His creative journey began in the 1970s and continues with full vigor even after half a century. To date, more than 100 of his books have been published, which is a testament to his tireless hard work and love for the Urdu language.

Nazir Sahab shares extensive literary relations. He had a deep spiritual and literary bond with Dr. Mansoor Khushtar and Professor Manazir Ashiq Harganvi. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he started a series of daily letters to Manazir Ashiq Harganvi. The collection of these fifty letters was published under the title "Fifty Letters to Manazir Ashiq Harganvi," serving as an important document of the sorrows and literary dialogues of that era.

In recognition of his literary services, he has been honored with several state and national awards. During his visit to Darbhanga, he was presented with the "Owais Ahmed Durrani Award" by the Al-Mansoor Trust. More than 30 books have been written about him by various researchers so far, which proves how much the scholarly community values his work.
