ABOUT THE LIBRARY
The Delhi Waqf Board Library is an important scholarly and research library administered by the Delhi Waqf Board, dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich intellectual heritage of Urdu, Arabic, and Persian. The Delhi Waqf Board, a statutory body established under the Waqf Act, 1995, is responsible for the administration and supervision of waqf properties, mosques, dargahs, khanqahs, madrasas, and other religious and charitable institutions across the National Capital Territory of Delhi. As part of this long-standing scholarly and cultural tradition, the Delhi Waqf Board Library has played a significant role in safeguarding the Islamic, literary, and historical heritage of the Indian subcontinent.
In recent years, the library has placed special emphasis on the digitization of its valuable collections. A substantial portion of its holdings is now available through the Rekhta Digital Library, enabling readers and researchers around the world to access this rare scholarly heritage with ease. This initiative has not only ensured the long-term preservation of valuable books and periodicals but has also made them globally accessible to students, scholars, and enthusiasts of Urdu, Arabic, and Persian.
