Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University, Lucknow is a distinguished state university established under the Uttar Pradesh Universities Act, 2009. In 2020, it was renamed Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University to reflect its expanded role in language studies and contemporary academic disciplines. Recognized under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC, the University promotes quality, skill-oriented, and interdisciplinary education in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, integrating language studies with the humanities, social sciences, professional education, and emerging technologies. In 2025, the University received its first NAAC accreditation with a CGPA of 2.86, recognizing its academic standards and institutional excellence.

The University currently offers more than seventy academic programmes and has an enrolment of over 4,000 students. In addition to Urdu, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, and English, it provides education and research in engineering, law, pharmacy, social sciences, computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, and other contemporary disciplines. The University is also actively engaged in promoting research, innovation, skill development, industry-academia collaboration, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the Indian Knowledge System.

The University's Central Library houses a valuable collection of books, research references, and academic resources in language and literature, the humanities, social sciences, Islamic studies, and related fields. A selected portion of this valuable collection is now available through the Rekhta Digital Library, enabling readers, students, and researchers around the world to access these resources online.
