Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy, Bhopal, was established by the Government of Madhya Pradesh on 4 December 1976 to promote the Urdu language, literature, and culture across the state. Functioning under the Sanskriti Parishad, Department of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh, the Academy supports the preservation, publication, and advancement of Urdu through a wide range of literary, educational, and cultural activities. It was founded with the objective of addressing the needs of Urdu education, Urdu journalism, and Urdu literature, while providing institutional support for their growth and development.

The Academy regularly organizes literary conferences, mushairas, seminars, book publications, literary awards, training programmes, and various cultural events, contributing significantly to the enrichment of the state's Urdu literary and cultural environment. Its headquarters are located at Mulla Ramuzi Sanskriti Bhavan, Banganga Road, Bhopal.

The Academy's library is an important academic resource, housing nearly 20,000 books in Urdu, Hindi, Persian, Arabic, and English. The collection serves students, researchers, teachers, and lovers of literature alike.
