Naqqad, Agra

In 1913, the monthly magazine Naqqad began its publication from Agra. Its editor, Maulvi Syed Nizamuddin Shah Dilgir Akbarabadi, was a distinguished prose writer. The purpose of this magazine was to revive the art of criticism, cultivate an appreciation for refined literature, and strive to make the language more classical. Naqqad played a significant role in the promotion of literary aesthetics.
