ye bhi kya sham-e-mulaqat aai
ye bhī kyā shām-e-mulāqāt aa.ī
lab pe mushkil se tirī baat aa.ī
sub.h se chup haiñ tire hijr-nasīb
haa.e kyā hogā agar raat aa.ī
bastiyāñ chhoḌ ke barse bādal
kis qayāmat kī ye barsāt aa.ī
koī jab mil ke huā thā ruḳhsat
dil-e-betāb vahī raat aa.ī
sāya-e-zulf-e-butāñ meñ 'nāsir'
ek se ek na.ī raat aa.ī

hae kya hoga agar raat aai

kis qayamat ki ye barsat aai
