Qamar Abbas Qamar on Why He Chooses to Be Alone | Rekhta Room | Season 1 | Episode 8
.
He keeps one hour of the night with the phone put away. That's where the poems come from.

Qamar Abbas Qamar talks with Faisal Fehmi about a route into Urdu that started somewhere unlikely. He's from Ghosi, in Mau district, where the spoken language is Bhojpuri with Awadhi running through it, not Urdu at all. What gave him the language was the household and the Azaai tehzeeb around it, the marsiya, noha, salaam and manqabat he heard at majlises from childhood. That's where the ear for rawani came from, years before he wrote a line. Qamar Abbas Qamar
