A لام lām, s.m. The name of the letter ل l;—(and hence, from the similitude) adj. & s.m. Crooked, curved, twisted, bent, curled;—a ringlet:—lām-alif, The compound character لا lā (which some Arabian grammarians consider the twenty-ninth letter of the alphabet):—lām-kāf, s.m.
