A بسيط basīt̤, adj. Simple, uncompounded, elementary;—s.m. Expanse, surface, superficies (syn. sat̤ḥ).

A بساط bisāt̤, s.f. Anything that is spread out; surface, expanse, expansion; carpet; bedding; chess-cloth or chess-board, dice-board;—goods, wares, &c. (=bisāt, q.v.).
