Incision, cut, slit, wound, opening (of a wound);—virginity, maidenhead;—triangular subdivision of a field (in a survey); the pillars, &c. used to mark this subdivision:—ćīrā utārnā (-kā), To deflower;—ćīrā-band, ćīre-band, s.f. A virgin:—ćirā-phāṛā, part. adj. Broken, torn, ragged, rent:—ćīrā toṛnā = ćīrā utārnā:—ćīrā-wālī, s.f.=ćīrā-band.

A large open space in a jungle or remote from human habitation (=ćaur):—ćauṛā-ćaklā, adj. Expanded; extensive, spacious:—ćaurā karnā, v.t. To make broad, to widen, to enlarge, &c. (=ćauṛānā):—ćauṛe-meṅ, adv. In the open; in broad day:—ćauṛe-meṅ baiṭhā rah-jānā, To be left desolate, to be abandoned, be quite forsaken; to be ruined:—ćauṛā honā, v.n.
