H سن सुन sun [S. शून्यः], adj. & s.m. Void, empty, blank; deserted, desolate, lonely, dreary; still, quiet; silent, speechless; without sensation, insensible, numb, paralyzed;—a void, a blank; a cypher, nought; a dot, point, mark; stillness, silence; loneliness, dreariness; a state of insensibility, fainting-fit, swoon, coma:—sun-sān, adj. Still, lonely, deserted, dreary, desolate, &c.:—sun karnā, v.t. To render insensible or torpid, to benumb; to paralyze:—sun-karne-wālā, adj. & s.m. (f. -ī), Rendering insensible; (in Med.) narcotic;—a narcotic:—sun-karne-wālā maraẓ, s.m. A dangerous fainting-fit, a death-like swoon to which lying-in women are subject, and from which they seldom recover:—sun honā or ho-jānā, v.n.
