P زياده ziyāda (for A. زيادة; see ziyādat), adj. & adv. More, additional; superfluous, redundant; too much, excessive;—superfluously; excessively, &c.:—ziyāda-tar, adj. More, &c. (=ziyāda):—ziyāda ḥadd-ě-adab, More would be the extreme limit of respect (i.e. would verge on disrespect,—such is commonly the concluding phrase of a petition in Urdū or Persian):—ziyāda-sitānī, s.f. Extortion, exaction:—ziyāda-sar, adj. & s.m. Conceited, too vain of self;—one who has a high opinion of himself; one who engages in an enterprise which he is unable to finish:—ziyāda-sarī, s.f. The having too high an opinion of self, vanity, self-conceit:—ziyāda-se ziyāda, adv. Too much, overmuch; at the greatest or highest, at the very most:—ziyāda-t̤alab, adj. & s.m. Extortionate;—extortioner:—ziyāda-t̤alabī or t̤albī, s.f. Seeking more or too much, inordinate desire; ambition; covetousness; extortion, imposition:—ziyāda-t̤albī karnā, To seek more, to covet, &c.:—ziyāda karnā, v.t. To increase, augment, add (to, -par); (fig.) to take away the dinner and tablecloth (syn. baṛhānā):—ziyāda-go, s.m. A great talker:—ziyāda honā, v.n. To exceed, be in excess, to abound.
