Abdullah Nadeem was born on 20 August 1969 in Alauddin Patti, Azamgarh. He received his early education in a religious environment and later studied Arabic and Mass Communication at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He has spent nearly three decades in media and journalism, including eighteen years with NDTV, working as a cameraman on major political, social and human-interest stories as well as documentaries.

Although he had been drawn to poetry since childhood, his serious engagement with poetry began during the COVID period. The solitude and pause of those years gave a new direction to the poet within him, and the ghazal gradually became a natural medium of expression. His first collection of poetry, Boo-e-Dost, was published in 2025. His poetry remains rooted in the aesthetic and cultural tradition of the classical ghazal while responding to contemporary experience and human emotions. Everyday life, the complexities of relationships, solitude, the passage of time and the inner landscape of existence find expression in familiar words and a gentle, layered voice.
