یہ ساحرلدھیانوی کی طویل نظم ہے، جو محاکات ،غنائی اور بیانیہ کیفیات کا اچھا نمونہ ہے ، اس نظم میں ساحر کا قلم شاعری کی بجائے مصوری کرتا ہوا دکھائی دیتا ہے،ساحر لدھیانوی کی یہ نظم دو حصوں پر مشتمل ہے۔ پہلا حصہ رومانویت سے بھر پور ہے جب کہ دوسرا حصہ سیاسی، سماجی، معاشرتی اورانقلابی خیالات کاآئینہ دار ہے ،نظم کا آغاز محبت کےخوب صورت اور دلکش منظر سے شروع ہوتا ہے،اس نظم کی کہانی ایک خوب صورت چاندنی رات سے شروع ہوتی ہے۔ کہانی کا مرکزی کردارالمیہ زندگی کی نمائندگی کر تا ہے۔وہ دو محبت کرنے والوں کو دیکھتا ہے۔یوں نظم نگاراس کردار کا سہارا لیتے ہوئے فلیش بیک تکنیک کے تحت کہانی کے گزرے واقعات کو قاری پر منکشف کرتا چلاجاتا ہے، ساحرکی یہ ایک ایسی نظم ہے جو رو حانی و ذہنی تسکین کا باعث بننے کےساتھ ساتھ امن عالم کی تحریک کو آگے بڑھانے میں معاون ہے۔

About The Author

Sahir Ludhianvi

Sahir Ludhianvi was born in 1921 at Ludhiana, Punjab. His real name was Abdul Hai Fazl Mohammad and 'Sahir' was his pseudonym. His father Chaudhary Fazl Mohammad was a wealthy land-owner of Sikhewal and belonged to Gujrat community. When he was hardly six months old, his mother separated from his father on account of temperamental differences and took him along. Under the guidance of Maulana Faiz Harbanvi, he cultivated interest in the study of Urdu and Persian and soon obtained mastery over these languages. Since his childhood, he started composing poetry. While going through one of Iqbal's couplets, he found the word 'Sahir' which meant enchanter or magician. He took it as his pen-name. As a student, Sahir was deeply concerned with socio-economic and political problems of the country and actively participated in the students' movement and addressed many public rallies and meetings. Sahir left Ludhiana for Lahore and took admission in the Dayalsingh College where he was elected as the President of the Students' Federation. After leaving the college mid-way, he joined the editorial staff of a few leading Urdu magazines including Adab-e-latif, Shahkar and Savera. After independence, he settled in India and devoted himself to composing film songs. His debut as film lyricist was in the films of Azadi ki rah par and Bazi. The latter gave him immense popularity and opened a new avenue for his talent. In recognition of his contributions, he was honoured with Padmabhushan and received many other awards. He died in Mumbai on 25th october, 1980.
