كلام اقبال اسلامی افكار ،عشق نبوی ﷺ،فلسفہ خودی ،مرد مومن ،جیسے تصورات پر مبنی ہے ۔انھوں نے اپنے كلام سے ایسا صور پھونكا كہ برصغیر كے باشندوں كی روح خوابیدہ كو بیدار كردیا جس كے باعث ادبی اور علمی تحریكیں ہی متاثر نہیں ہوئیں بلكہ معاشی اور سیاسی افكار میں بھی تغیر آگیا ۔براعظم كی مسلم ملت بالخصوص متاثر ہوئی۔یوں گویا اس كے عروق مردہ میں خون زندگی ازسرنو دوڑنے لگاہو ۔كلام اقبال اور ان كی فكر محض براعظم كی وسیع و عریض تك محدود نہ رہی بلكہ وہ سیاسی ،جغرافیائی اور نسلی حدود كو عبور كر كے سارے عالم میں روشن ہوگئی ہے۔یہی وجہ ہے كہ شاعرمشرق علامہ اقبال كے فن اور شخصیت كے مختلف پہلووں پر دنیا كے ہر خطہ كے ادیب نے بہت كچھ لكھا ہے اور یہ سلسلہ آج بھی جاری ہے۔زیر نظر كتاب "میزان اقبال"اسی سلسلہ كی ایك كڑی ہے۔جو سات مضامین پرمشتمل ہے۔ہر مضمون اقبالیات پر نئی روشنی ڈالتا ہے۔یہ نہیں كہ ان موضوعات پر پہلے كسی نے نہیں لكھا ،بلكہ اس كا مطلب یہ ہے كہ جو دوسروں نے لكھا اس كے باوصف ان موضوعات میں ایك نیا زاویہ نظر پایا جاتا ہے۔دوسروں نے اگر كچھ اشارے كئے ہیں تو مصنف نے تفصیل سے ان اشاروں میں استیعاب پیدا كردیا ہے۔اس لحاظ سے یہ مضامین نئے ہیں۔كلام اقبال میں عربی اثرات ،میزان كا پہلا مضمون ہے۔جس میں كلام اقبال پر عربی شاعری كے اثرات پر تفصیلی گفتگو دلائل كے ساتھ كی گئی ہے۔دیگر مضامین توازن ۔علامہ اقبال كی شاعری كا یك اہم پہلو ،اقبال كی غزل گوئی اور نظم نگاری،اقبال جوش كی نظر میں وغیرہ ہیں۔كتاب ہذا كے سارے مضامین كلام اقبال كے ادبی پہلو سے تعلق ركھتے ہیں۔جن میں افكار اقبال كے نظریات كو سمجھنے كی بہترین كوشش كی گئی ہے۔

Identity: Scholar of Iqbal Studies, Researcher, Translator, and Poet

Professor Muhammad Munawwar was born on 27 March 1923 in Bhera, Sargodha District. His father was Mirza Hashimuddin. He earned master's degrees in Urdu, Arabic, and Philosophy from the University of the Punjab. He served in the Department of Urdu at Government College Lahore and retired in 1980 as its Head. Subsequently, he became Chairman of the Department of Iqbal Studies at the University of the Punjab and later served as Director of the Iqbal Academy Pakistan.

Professor Muhammad Munawwar is regarded as one of Pakistan’s distinguished scholars of Iqbal, researchers, and intellectuals. He produced significant scholarship on the thought, philosophy, and poetry of Allama Iqbal and authored several important works in the field of Iqbal Studies. His notable books include Mizan-e-Iqbal, Iqan-e-Iqbal, Burhan-e-Iqbal, Qirtas-e-Iqbal, Allama Iqbal Bahuzur-e-Adam, Iqbal and Quranic Wisdom, Dimensions of Iqbal, and Iqbal: Poet Philosopher of Islam.

Apart from Iqbal Studies, he wrote extensively on history, culture, politics, and literature. His important works include Pakistan Hisar-e-Islam, Tehreek-e-Pakistan: Tarikh-o-Khado-Khal, Deewar-e-Brahman, Mushahida-e-Haq ki Guftagu, and Aulad-e-Adam. His poetry collections Ghubar-e-Tamanna and Nuqta-e-Ashk were also published. In addition, he translated and edited several important historical texts.

In recognition of his scholarly and literary contributions, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Sitara-i-Imtiaz.

Death: Professor Muhammad Munawwar passed away in Lahore on 7 February 2000.
