Dr. Wafa Naqvi, originally named Syed Basir-ul-Hasan Naqvi, is a distinguished figure in Urdu literature. He was born on February 12, 1983, in Shikarpur, District Bulandshahr, which is his ancestral hometown. His academic journey, from early education to a Ph.D. in Urdu, was completed at Aligarh Muslim University.
He is recognized as a poet, fiction writer, and critic, excelling in multiple literary domains. Alongside his literary contributions, he also hosts Urdu poetry symposiums (Mushaira) and participates in religious gatherings (Majlis) as a Zakir. His works reflect depth and diversity, evident in his five published books—Rang Khushbu Saba, Mom Ki Ladki, Sahifa-e-Naqd, Sahifa-e-Nazar, and Sahifa-e-Fun (2025).
Moreover, he has authored several books. His scholarly and critical insight is particularly notable in the preface of Me'raj-e-Aqeedat, a book by Izhar Naqvi, where he explores new dimensions of sacred (Taqdeesi) poetry. His contributions to Urdu literature hold a distinctive place, being equally valuable in creative and critical discourse.
