aaj mausam baDa suhana hai
aaj mausam baḌā suhānā hai
yaad aayā koī fasāna hai
ashk maazī sharāb aur ġhazleñ
rabt in se mirā purānā hai
ġhurbatoñ ke ye daur haiñ achchhe
chāñd tāroñ pe shāmiyāna hai
ye tirī yaad hai tire jaisī
kaam in kā mujhe satānā hai
khol dil kī girah zarā tū bhī
ye taġhāful to bas bahāna hai
dasht ko dasht rahne de insāñ
be-zabāñ kā ye āshiyāna hai
kārvāñ saath thā kabhī mere
aaj 'ġhāfil' huā zamāna hai
aaj mausam baDa suhana hai
yaad aaya koi fasana hai

ghurbaton ke ye daur hain achchhe
chand taron pe shamiyana hai
ye teri yaad hai tere jaisi
kaam in ka mujhe satana hai
khol dil ki girah zara tu bhi
ye taghaful to bas bahana hai
dasht ko dasht rahne de insan
be-zaban ka ye aashiyana hai
karwan sath tha kabhi mere
aaj 'ghafil' hua zamana hai
