jalte rahe the ḳhvāb suhāne tamām raat
yuuñ mere dard-e-dil kī davā ban sake na tum
riste rahe haiñ zaḳhm purāne tamām raat
toḌā thā jis ke dil ko sitāroñ ne be-sabab
aa.e the jugnū us ko manāne tamām raat
jin ke liye thī dil kī vo mahfil sajī huī
aa.e nahīñ vo rasm nibhāne tamām raat
aa.ī nahīñ na aañkh lagī sub.h ho ga.ī
kartī rahī hai niiñd bahāne tamām raat
