āshiyāñ thā ham se ham the āshiyāne ke liye
roiye kyā ab qafas meñ is zamāne ke liye
kār-farmā haiñ niyāz-e-ishq kī majbūriyāñ
sajde le kar maiñ chalā thā āstāne ke liye
kashmakash meñ hai hayāt-o-maut kī jān-e-hazīñ
aap aa jaa.eñ zarā qissa chukāne ke liye
koī hotā hai ḳharīdār-e-matā.a-e-ahl-e-dil
daulat-e-dārain laate haiñ luTāne ke liye
ho qafas kī tīliyoñ par bhī nigāh-e-lutf-e-barq
kyā nasheman hī ke tinke the jalāne ke liye
aashiyan tha hum se hum the aashiyane ke liye
roiye kya ab qafas mein is zamane ke liye
kar-farma hain niyaz-e-ishq ki majburiyan
sajde le kar main chala tha aastane ke liye
kashmakash mein hai hayat-o-maut ki jaan-e-hazin
aap aa jaen zara qissa chukane ke liye
koi hota hai KHaridar-e-mataa-e-ahl-e-dil
daulat-e-darain late hain luTane ke liye
ho qafas ki tiliyon par bhi nigah-e-lutf-e-barq
kya nasheman hi ke tinke the jalane ke liye
