ab na bahal sakega dil ab na diye jalaiye
ab na bahal sakegā dil ab na diye jalā.iye
ishq-o-havas haiñ sab fareb aap se kyā chhupā.iye
us ne kahā ki yaad haiñ rañg tulū-e-ishq ke
maiñ ne kahā ki chhoḌiye ab unheñ bhuul jā.iye
kaise nafīs the makāñ saaf thā kitnā āsmāñ
maiñ ne kahā ki vo samāñ aaj kahāñ se lā.iye
kuchh to surāġh mil sake mausam-e-dard-e-hijr kā
sañg-e-jamāl-e-yār par naqsh koī banā.iye
koī sharar nahīñ bachā pichhle baras kī raakh meñ
ham-nafsān-e-sho.ala-ḳhū aag na.ī jalā.iye
ab na bahal sakega dil ab na diye jalaiye
ishq-o-hawas hain sab fareb aap se kya chhupaiye
us ne kaha ki yaad hain rang tulu-e-ishq ke
main ne kaha ki chhoDiye ab unhen bhul jaiye
kaise nafis the makan saf tha kitna aasman
main ne kaha ki wo saman aaj kahan se laiye
kuchh to suragh mil sake mausam-e-dard-e-hijr ka
sang-e-jamal-e-yar par naqsh koi banaiye
koi sharar nahin bacha pichhle baras ki rakh mein
ham-nafsan-e-shoala-KHu aag nai jalaiye
