chhiDa pahle-pahal jab saz-e-hasti
chhiḌā pahle-pahal jab sāz-e-hastī
to har parde ne dī āvāz-e-hastī
ḳhayāl-e-yār tere sadqe jā.ūñ
tire dam se hai soz-o-sāz-e-hastī
maiñ marne ke liye paidā huā huuñ
mirā anjām hai āġhāz-e-hastī
sukūn-e-kā.enāt-e-dil baqā hai
ajal ik jumbish-e-parvāz-e-hastī
mirī ḳhāk-e-sahar kā zarra zarra
hai 'bedam' maḳhzan-e-sad-rāz-e-hastī

to har parde ne di aawaz-e-hasti
KHayal-e-yar tere sadqe jaun
tere dam se hai soz-o-saz-e-hasti
main marne ke liye paida hua hun
mera anjam hai aaghaz-e-hasti
sukun-e-kaenat-e-dil baqa hai
ajal ek jumbish-e-parwaz-e-hasti
meri KHak-e-sahar ka zarra zarra
hai 'bedam' maKHzan-e-sad-raaz-e-hasti
