taras rahā huuñ unhīñ kī hasīn bāñhoñ ko
qadam qadam pe vo āñkheñ bichhā bichhā denā
zarūr yaad to hogā tumhārī rāhoñ ko
duhā.ī hai terī ai rāhzan duhā.ī hai
ki aaj luuT liyā rāhbar ne rāhoñ ko
lage na phir kabhī dāman meñ daaġh un ke 'shamīm'
sharāb-e-nāb se dhoyā hai jin gunāhoñ ko
gale laga ke jo sunte the dil ki aahon ko
taras raha hun unhin ki hasin banhon ko
qadam qadam pe wo aankhen bichha bichha dena
zarur yaad to hoga tumhaari rahon ko
duhai hai teri ai rahzan duhai hai
ki aaj luT liya rahbar ne rahon ko
lage na phir kabhi daman mein dagh un ke 'shamim'
sharab-e-nab se dhoya hai jin gunahon ko
