ġhazal jab dāman-e-sayyād hogī
ḳhayāl-e-‘ishq se āzād hogī
maiñ yūñhī she'r bas paḌhtā rahūñgā
tire hoñToñ pe jab tak daad hogī
ka.ī jugnū nikal ā.eñge phir se
na.ī ik raushnī ījād hogī
mire baazū ye mazlūmoñ ke hoñge
mire shānoñ pe terī yaad hogī
hai TuuTī chhat kī jo ik iiñT baaqī
na.e kal kī vahī buniyād hogī

KHayal-e-‘ishq se aazad hogi
main yunhi she'r bas paDhta rahunga
tere honTon pe jab tak dad hogi
kai jugnu nikal aaenge phir se
nai ek raushni ijad hogi
mere bazu ye mazlumon ke honge
mere shanon pe teri yaad hogi
hai TuTi chhat ki jo ek inT baqi
nae kal ki wahi buniyaad hogi
