jaage zamīr zehn khule tāzgī mile
chhūTe gahan ki mujh ko mirī raushnī mile
kyuuñ zabt-o-ehtiyāt meñ guzre tamām umr
is muntashir dimāġh ko bas barhamī mile
har ajnabī se shahr meñ DhūñDo ḳhulūs-e-dil
har āshnā-e-shahr se begāngī mile
johlā-e-bad-zabān baneñ rahbarān-e-qaum
ulamā-e-ḳhush-kalām ko bas gum-rahī mile
ai jazba-e-supurdagī ḳhud ko zarā sambhāl
aisā na ho tujhe bhī vahī be-ruḳhī mile
