jaane qalam ki aankh mein kis ka zuhur tha
jaane qalam kī aañkh meñ kis kā zuhūr thā
kal raat mere giit ke mukhḌe pe nuur thā
naġhma sā chheḌtī thiiñ tajallī kī uñgliyāñ
tauret kā nuzūl ba-lahn-e-zabūr thā
vo saath saath aur pahuñchnā thā us talak
har aan ek marhala nazdīk o duur thā
haibat ke baam par thī bulāve kī raushnī
thī vasvasoñ kī shaam pa jaanā zarūr thā
har pech koī vāqi.a har moḌ koī yaad
us ke badan ke saath mirā lā-shu.ūr thā
ik bhiiḌ mujh se muntazir-e-inkishāf thī
maiñ thā murāqabe meñ magar be-huzūr thā
jaane qalam ki aankh mein kis ka zuhur tha

naghma sa chheDti thin tajalli ki ungliyan
tauret ka nuzul ba-lahn-e-zabur tha
wo sath sath aur pahunchna tha us talak
har aan ek marhala nazdik o dur tha
haibat ke baam par thi bulawe ki raushni
thi waswason ki sham pa jaana zarur tha
har pech koi waqia har moD koi yaad
us ke badan ke sath mera la-shuur tha
ek bhiD mujh se muntazir-e-inkishaf thi
main tha muraqabe mein magar be-huzur tha
