jab koī Tiis dil dukhātī hai
nabz kuchh der ruk sī jaatī hai
aaj āvārgī se kah dūñgā
ek chaukhaT mujhe bulātī hai
ghup-añdhere kā fā.eda le kar
os phūloñ pe baiTh jaatī hai
kal talak to varaq hī uḌte the
ab havā harf bhī uḌātī hai
jāgte haiñ sabhī shajar 'āzar'
dasht meñ kis ko niiñd aatī hai
jab koi Tis dil dukhati hai
nabz kuchh der ruk si jati hai
aaj aawargi se kah dunga
ek chaukhaT mujhe bulati hai
ghup-andhere ka faeda le kar
os phulon pe baiTh jati hai
kal talak to waraq hi uDte the
ab hawa harf bhi uDati hai
jagte hain sabhi shajar 'azar'
dasht mein kis ko nind aati hai
