achchhā huā vafā kī shurūāt to huī
ik umr se jo bichhḌe hue the hamāre yaar
shukr-e-ḳhudā ki un se mulāqāt to huī
the chilchilātī dhuup meñ jhulse hue badan
bādal simaT ke aa ga.e barsāt to huī
shāyad ki ab sukūn mile bhāg-dauḌ se
din ne thakā diyā thā bahut raat to huī
jo shak kā khel thā vo diloñ se nikal gayā
gar jiit ho na paa.ī to phir maat to huī
kahne ko muKHtasar thi magar baat to hui
