ho ga.iiñ bastiyāñ vīrān yahāñ pal bhar meñ
koī to aa.e jo phir se inheñ ābād kare
pā-ba-zanjīr koī daar pe mansūr nahīñ
haq kī bātoñ pe bhalā kaun yahāñ saad kare
kaisā pindār hai dil qaid haiñ ḳhushiyāñ jis meñ
in parindoñ ko hī āzād ye sayyād kare
murda jismoñ meñ muqayyad haiñ taḌaptī rūheñ
koī zindān-e-nihāñ se unheñ āzād kare
jis kī buniyād mohabbat kī ho zāmin 'sumbul'
aisā ik shahr yahāñ koī to ābād kare

koi to aae jo phir se inhen aabaad kare
pa-ba-zanjir koi dar pe mansur nahin
haq ki baaton pe bhala kaun yahan sad kare
kaisa pindar hai dil qaid hain KHushiyan jis mein
in parindon ko hi aazad ye sayyaad kare
murda jismon mein muqayyad hain taDapti ruhen
koi zindan-e-nihan se unhen aazad kare
jis ki buniyaad mohabbat ki ho zamin 'sumbul'
aisa ek shahr yahan koi to aabaad kare
