ranj se duur the aur ḳhushiyoñ se nisbat thī kabhī
vaqt aisā bhī thā achchhī bhalī qismat thī kabhī
ye haqīqat hai ki ahbāb badalte raheñge
vo jinheñ pyaar kī ḳhalvat meñ zarūrat thī kabhī
ab use zahr kī mānind piye jā rahe haiñ
ik adhūrī sī mohabbat jo 'ināyat thī kabhī
vo hameñ chhoḌ gayā is liye māyūs nahīñ
is liye haiñ ki use bhī to mohabbat thī kabhī
ranj se dur the aur KHushiyon se nisbat thi kabhi
waqt aisa bhi tha achchhi bhali qismat thi kabhi
ye haqiqat hai ki ahbab badalte rahenge
wo jinhen pyar ki KHalwat mein zarurat thi kabhi
ab use zahr ki manind piye ja rahe hain
ek adhuri si mohabbat jo 'inayat thi kabhi
wo hamein chhoD gaya is liye mayus nahin
is liye hain ki use bhi to mohabbat thi kabhi
