suḳhan suḳhan ba-sarāhat bayāñ samajhne lage
mire harīf bhī merī zabāñ samajhne lage
havā vo bāñdhī mire qātiloñ ne qatl ke baad
sab us ko hādisa-e-nā-gahāñ samajhne lage
mizāj meñ usī din se dar aa.ī darveshī
ki jab se ma.ānī-e-umr-ravāñ samajhne lage
jahāñ muqīm ham āvār-gān-e-shauq hue
usī ko saltanat-e-bekarāñ samajhne lage
qanā.ateñ thiiñ ki majbūriyāñ nahīñ ma.alūm
qafas ko ahl-e-chaman āshiyāñ samajhne lage
suKHan suKHan ba-sarahat bayan samajhne lage
mere harif bhi meri zaban samajhne lage
hawa wo bandhi mere qatilon ne qatl ke baad
sab us ko hadisa-e-na-gahan samajhne lage
mizaj mein usi din se dar aai darweshi
ki jab se maani-e-umr-rawan samajhne lage
jahan muqim hum aawar-gan-e-shauq hue
usi ko saltanat-e-bekaran samajhne lage
qanaaten thin ki majburiyan nahin malum
qafas ko ahl-e-chaman aashiyan samajhne lage
