tilism-e-ḳhvāb-o-ḳhayāl tak thā
mirā yaqīñ ehtimāl tak thā
ajiib thā dard-e-nā-rasā.ī
sadā-ba-sahrā savāl tak thā
charāġh āñkhoñ meñ jal rahe the
sukūt shām-e-malāl tak thā
dayār-e-shab kā udaas manzar
tulū-e-husn-e-zavāl tak thā
tabassum-e-dil-navāz bhī ai 'nāz'
lab-e-gul-e-pā.emāl tak thā
tilism-e-KHwab-o-KHayal tak tha
mera yaqin ehtimal tak tha
