ye samāñ raat bahut yaad bahut yaad aaya
aaj ḳhushbū-e-gulistāñ jo gulistāñ se chalī
vo jo thā ik dil-e-barbād bahut yaad aaya
dekh kar aaj hasīnoñ kī ināyat kā rang
mujh ko apnā sitam-ījād bahut yaad aaya
zindagī aaj ḳhudā jaane kidhar se guzrī
gum jo muddat se thā 'āzād' bahut yaad aaya

ye saman raat bahut yaad bahut yaad aaya
aaj KHushbu-e-gulistan jo gulistan se chali
wo jo tha ek dil-e-barbaad bahut yaad aaya
dekh kar aaj hasinon ki inayat ka rang
mujh ko apna sitam-ijad bahut yaad aaya
zindagi aaj KHuda jaane kidhar se guzri
gum jo muddat se tha 'azad' bahut yaad aaya
