us kī chāhat kī chāñdnī hogī
ḳhūb-sūrat sī zindagī hogī
ek laḌkī bahut se phuul liye
dil kī dahlīz par khaḌī hogī
chāhe jitne charāg gul kar do
ek ghar meñ to raushnī hogī
niiñd tairegī merī āñkhoñ ko
jab bhī ḳhvāboñ se dostī hogī
ham bahut duur the magar tum ne
dil kī āvāz to sunī hogī
sochtā huuñ ki vo kahāñ hogā
kis ke āñgan meñ chāñdnī hogī
