wafa ke zaKHm hum dhone na pae
vafā ke zaḳhm ham dhone na paa.e
bahut ro.e magar rone na paa.e
kuchh itnā shor thā shahr-e-sabā meñ
musāfir rāt-bhar sone na paa.e
jahāñ thī hādisa har baat 'bāqī'
vahīñ kuchh hādse hone na paa.e

bahut roe magar rone na pae
kuchh itna shor tha shahr-e-saba mein
musafir raat-bhar sone na pae
jahan thi hadisa har baat 'baqi'
