wo charagh sa kaf-e-rahguzar mein kaun tha
vo charāġh sā kaf-e-rahguzār meñ kaun thā
maiñ kahāñ thā aur mire intizār meñ kaun thā
koī dhuul uḌtī thī rāstoñ pe na khul sakā
vo ġhanīm thā ki kumak ġhubār meñ kaun thā
koī shaam halqa-e-dostāñ meñ guzārtā
jise jā ke miltā maiñ us dayār meñ kaun thā
mire ḳhvāb kis ne churā liye sar-e-shām-e-ġham
mirī umr jis ke thī iḳhtiyār meñ kaun thā
wo charagh sa kaf-e-rahguzar mein kaun tha
main kahan tha aur mere intizar mein kaun tha
koi dhul uDti thi raston pe na khul saka
wo ghanim tha ki kumak ghubar mein kaun tha
koi sham halqa-e-dostan mein guzarta
jise ja ke milta main us dayar mein kaun tha
mere KHwab kis ne chura liye sar-e-sham-e-gham
meri umr jis ke thi iKHtiyar mein kaun tha
